This weekend is all about Mama… here is a rundown of all the things you can do in Gatesville with or for your Mom. (click underlined words to link to more information)
If you like to kick off your weekend early, Thursday is always Thirsty Thursday at The Junction on 36 and at The Bar Somewhere Else. You can hear Ed Leonard play between 6:30 and 9:30 at The Junction or Taylor Branch at The Bar from 7:30-10:30.
Bailey Shea Dickie will be performing for the dinner crowd at The Knife & Cork starting at 6pm on Thursday and the restaurant will be offering a a 12-ounce prime rib, mashed potatoes and veggie, served with au jus and horseradish cream for $24.95
On Friday, May 11, Local artists, Billy Latham and Hunter Crawford will be doing a song swap 7:30-9:30 on the new outdoor stage at Bare Bones BBQ.
Also on Friday evening, the family can enjoy a free movie at the Gatesville City Auditorium at 7pm, sponsored by Highway to Heaven Biker Church
On Saturday, you can enjoy some time shopping with or for Mom at one of our great local boutiques & shops. They are stocked up with great gift items (and you might just find something you need, too!) Check out these links for a taste of what they have in stock and special deals: The Bee Hive, Bullspit Rustic Inspiration, Country Cottage, Coryell Feed and Supply, Graves Florist, Hinds & Marcus Fine Jewelry, Leairds Furniture, Leon River Mercantile, Moos Boutique, The Parrot Imports, The Parrot’s Nest Boutique, Vintage Royalty
Stop by Chamber Market Days while you are out on Saturday and see what the vendors have this month. New vendors and products are being added each month.
On Sunday, enjoy the tradition of taking Mom to church and then to lunch. Our area churches welcome your families as we honor our mothers, whether they are here with us or now live in our memories.
Local restaurants advertising Mother’s Day lunch specials include The Feed Mill & Bare Bones BBQ. The Junction on 36 will give a rose to the first 100 moms to come
in on Sunday. For a listing of more restaurants and their days/hours of operation, see the dining page
Faunt Le Roy Park and Raby Park are always great places to enjoy being outdoors with all of the family. The Splash Park is now open in Raby Park!
Did we miss something?
We always try to provide information about all of our businesses and organizations who are having special events. Sometimes we just don't have room for everything and sometimes we don't know about events. If we've missed something, feel free to post a reply and let everyone know!
