Weekend Fun Forecast

Thur 5/17             





Thursdays always signal that the weekend is in sight.   


 The Knife & Cork  features live music by Bailey Shea Dickie starting at 6pm.  Their dinner special tonight is Fish & Chips, starting at 5:00.








Ed Leonard can be found playing at the Junction on Route 36 from 6:30-9:30  each Thursday and provides an opportunity for country music fans of all ages to enjoy dinner or drinks and maybe a little dancing, too!


Taylor Branch plays an acoustic show at The Bar Somewhere Else from 7:30-10:30 on Thursdays and has developed quite a following.  


Fri 5/18                  



Friday brings more live music with the Gatesville Country Music Hall of Fame Show at the Gatesville City Auditorium. This month's feature entertainers are The Grass Burrs. The show starts at  7pm. Admission is free.


Ed Leonard will be at the American Legion from 7-10pm.  Get there early to enjoy their fried catfish Friday dinner.


On the new outdoor stage at Bare Bones BBQ, Tyler Pruitt opens the show at 7pm, followed by Jerrod Hicks with Wesley Hall on the fiddle at 8pm. Bring lawn chairs.


Sat 5/19



Rise & Shine Saturday morning for the CenTex Crime Stoppers Donut Dash 5K/10K presented by Centex Crime Stoppers and Coryell Memorial Healthcare System. This chip timed race will start and finish at the Gatesville City Pool. Runners will have the option of running a 5K or 10K race, both offering unique challenges for runners of all ages. All Proceeds will benefit Centex Crime Stoppers. For both the 5K and the 10K we will be awarding Over All Male and Female winner, as well as top 3 finishers in the following age groups: 19&U, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+Race-day registration and packet pick-up will be race morning 7-7:45 at the race site.Packet pick-up will also be available Friday, May 18, at Gatesville Fitness Center. Race-Day registration is $30.

Graduation is coming up!  If you haven't purchased gifts for all of your favorite graduates, be sure to set an example for these young folks and SHOP LOCAL. We have great local shops that offer a variety of gifts and great service! 


Hit some garage sales on this sunny Saturday.  You won't want to miss the Coryell County Pet Rescue Rummage Sale at 310 E Main.  They'll have some bargains for a great cause! 


Taylor Branch returns to The Bar Somewhere Else with the full band, Taylor Branch & the Lone Star Ramblers Saturday at 9pm.  $6 cover.





Just because the weekend is over doesn't mean the fun has to end!  Monday -Wednesday, 5/21-23, the  US Army Golden Knights will be conducting tandem jumps at the Gatesville Airport. There will be a designated area for public viewing 9am-2pm.
