Now that it is officially Summer... let's talk about ways to stay cool and have fun! We have some of those this weekend in Gatesville. Here are some of the top rated events and attractions:
Bare Bones BBQ will have live music with Chris Perez and Jared Hale starting at 8 pm.
Brian Groce will play an acoustic show at The Bar Somewhere Else. 9pm $3.00 cover
This weekend at The Last Drive-In Picture Show: Jurassic World at 9pm and Oceans 8 at 11pm. In the Cinema: Incredibles 2 at 2:00, 4:30, 7:00 and 9:30.
Keep Gatesville Beautiful is offering a class in Bokashi Composting in the barn area at the Civic Center starting at 9am. Everyone is invited to attend and learn about this composting method that utilizes fermentation, at no cost. (All of the $10 Make and Take spots have now been filled.)
The Gatesville Gun Show will be at the Civic Center on Saturday 9am-5pm and Sunday 9am-4pm. This is a Whipp Farm Productions event and will feature vendors from across the state. In addition to firearms, there will be vendors there with a variety of items. Admission is $8, kids 15 & under are free with a paid adult.
Cool off at City Pool or in the free splash pad at Raby Park this weekend then enjoy some time in the shade at the park.
Step into the cool at the Coryell Museum and Historical Center between 10am-4pm and explore the huge collection of displays. Admission is free (donations accepted).
Billy Holder and Clint Allen Janisch will play at Bare Bones Saturday night. Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy the new Bone Yard outdoor stage.
