Weekend Round-up

The 81st Annual Gatesville Riding Club Rodeo runs Thursday through Saturday, August 2-4th at the Riding Club Arena.  Gates open at 6pm.  Mutton Busting starts each night at 7:15, and is limited to the first 10 to sign up. Nightly Calf Scramble does not require registration.


Tickets are $10 and $5 for kids. Thursday military appreciation with $2 off with ID card and Friday is First Responder night for Fire, EMS, TDCJ, and Police. $2 off (with ID) for member. Saturday is Cancer awareness night with donations going towards helping local cancer patients.








The Rodeo Dance will be held next door, at the Gatesville Civic Center on Friday, starting at 9pm with Ed Leonard performing.  Admission is free with your rodeo ticket.  $10 cooler charge.  All ages welcome.

Thursday & Friday 



Other than the rodeo, there is still plenty going on this weekend. Live music is plentiful, starting with a couple of Thursday night shows:

Ed Leonard at The Junction on 36  6-9pm 

Taylor Branch at The Bar Somewhere Else 7:30pm


On Friday, don't forget Ed Leonard at the Rodeo Dance at Gatesville Civic Center  9pm

Clint Janisch at The Bar Somewhere Else 8pm



On Saturday, Bluegrass and Banjo fans will want to drive out to Pearl to the First Saturday Jam. This month's show will include the State Banjo Championships and the Sieker Band at 2pm Saturday.  For more details, see their Facebook Page.

See some softball action at The Marshall Day Memorial Softball Tournament at the Gatesville Recreation ballpark on Saturday and Sunday.
