The weekend "kicks off" Friday night with a home game for the Gatesville Hornets. This is the annual BIG STING game where GHS pulls out all the stops to raise money for those battling cancer in our community and makes game night about a show of support for those impacted by this disease. Pregame ceremony at 6:45 and kickoff at 7:30pm.
Downtown Gatesville offers lots of action during the day on Saturday. Spurfest returns to the Coryell Museum at 8th & Main from 9am-4pm. Admission is free to this festival, celebrating the frontier and cowboy heritage of our area. Inside the museum visitors can enjoy live music, weaving and quilting demonstrations, a mock saloon, and a cowboy talk. Sample chuck wagon biscuits and gravy and homemade peach cobbler and explore the many exhibits depicting life in an earlier time. Outside, be entertained by the Karem Cowboys and shop with the many vendors along 8th Street. (The street will be closed to thru traffic).
While you are downtown, head down to Faunt Le Roy Park for the 32nd Annual Cruzin Cruzers Car Show. You'll be able to see classic and custom cars while you enjoy entertainment, a free reptile show, concessions, and shopping with a variety of vendors. Admission is free for spectators and opens at 8am with awards presentations at 3:30.
Wind down with some live music on Saturday night at Bare Bones BBQ. Bailey Shea Dickie and Kory Porter will appear on the Bone Yard stage beginning at 9pm.
