Here's a schedule of events in Gatesville this weekend:
Thursdays are always the night to start your weekend early with the music of Ed Leonard at The Junction on 36. He starts at 6:30 and there is no cover so get there early for a good seat. All ages are welcome.
Stop by the Gatesville Civic Center between 6-8pm on Thursday for the Gatesville Volunteer Fire Department Open House and thank our firefighters for their dedication to our community. In observance of Fire Safety Week, the fire department will be displaying fire safety posters by GISD students and will have equipment on display along with educational materials and family fun.

The GHS Hornets will take on Brownwood at McKamie Stadium at 7pm. This will be Military Appreciation Night. All military in uniform, those with military ID, and dependent family with military ID will be admitted free of charge and troops from North Fort Hood will be in attendance. There will be a Fort Hood helicopter fly-by at approximately 6:54 (prior to kickoff).
Dillan Poe will perform Friday night at the Bone Yard at Bare Bones BBQ. Hunter Crawford opens the show at 8pm. Bring your lawn chairs and your mosquito spray!
The Cowboy and Indian Artifact show will be open to the public from 8am-4pm on Saturday at the Gatesville Civic Center. Collectors will have arrowheads, fossils, coins, knives and more on display and for sale.
While you are out on Saturday morning, stop by the Cotton Belt Depot for Chamber Market Days between 9am-1pm and shop with a variety of vendors.
