Here are a few of the things going on in Gatesville this Veteran's Day weekend:
Enjoy an evening out with family or friends and have dinner while listening to Ed Leonard at The Junction on 36. No cover, all ages welcome. 6:30-9:30pm.
Veterans and active duty military are invited to a free breakfast at the Gatesville ISD Culinary Arts building. The meal, provided by the Gatesville Exchange Club, will be served from 6:30-8:30 am.
Gatesville ISD will host a Veteran's Day ceremony at McKamie Stadium beginning at 9:00 am. Students from all campuses will attend the event, and it is open to the public. Area veterans and active duty personnel, including troops from North Fort Hood, will be honored in the program, featuring music and readings presented by the students. Col. Lance Cangelois will be the guest speaker.
On Friday evening, Justin Cole will be performing at The Bar Somewhere Else.
First United Methodist Church will hold their annual Harvest Festival from 7am-1pm.
The event will feature fun activities for the whole family, food, and a garage sale.
At 9 am Saturday morning, join organizers at the City Pool parking lot for the Freedom Run 5K Walk/Run. You do not have to pre-register and there is no registration fee. Participants and others are invited to a celebration in Raby Park after the run.
Shop with vendors selling everything from fresh produce to gift items at the monthly Chamber Market Days. They will be set up at the Cotton Belt Depot from 9am-1pm.
Bare Bones BBQ will host a Veteran's Day Concert featuring Jason Wade Thomas Saturday evening starting at 8pm.
Most Federal, State, and local offices will be closed on Monday in observance of Veteran's Day. We hope that you will find a way to express gratitude to the men and women who have served to protect our country.
