This weekend's weather forecast promises cool enough days to make it feel like Fall, but a break from the rain and enough sunshine to make it pleasant for getting out and enjoying the crisp air.
Here are a few things worth getting out for!
On Thursday, stop by Gatesville Primary between 10am & 4pm for food and shopping at the PTO's Thankful Thanksgiving Fall Festival.
Thursday noon is the deadline to stop by the Gatesville Police Department and make a donation for your favorite officer during their "No Shave November" event. Proceeds go to Food For Families.
Thursday evenings are the perfect time to get out for dinner and the music of Ed Leonard at The Junction on 36. He'll be playing 6:30-9:30.
Now showing at The Last Drive In and the Cinema:
Every year, the citizens of Gatesville and the surrounding communites manage to set a record for donations for Food for Families. Donations of cash and non-perishable food items will be accepted at the Gatesville Fire Station between 6am and 8pm. These donations will go to the Gatesville Care Center to help feed those in our area in need during the coming year.
Do you know someone who enjoys great fiddle music? They won't want to miss the Gatesville Country Music Hall of Fame Show at the Gatesville City Auditorium Friday evening. Paul and Tara Schlesinger will be this month's guest artists. The show starts at 7pm and admission is free!
Be sure to get downtown early to enjoy dinner before the show. The Feed Mill and The Knife and Cork are both close by the auditorium and will be offering Friday night dinner specials!
If you prefer to make your own music, The Bar Somewhere Else has Karaoke with Ray Veach on Friday night starting at 8pm and there is no cover charge.
Thanksgiving is less than a week away and Christmas is just around the corner! If you have some shopping to do, The Bee Hive is going out of business and is a great place to pick up a great deal on some gifts or items to spruce up your home! Stop by and see Jerry while you are out Saturday.
If you are stressed about next week's Thanksgiving meal, Bare Bones BBQ and J&M Hill Country BBQ are both offering ready to serve family meals. Deadline to order is Saturday for Bare Bones and Sunday for J&M. Bare Bones will also smoke your turkey for you, if you get it to them by Saturday.
If you need to do some holiday shopping, or if you just need a date night away from the kids, the Chamber Junior Ambassadors are having a Parents Night Out at First United Methodist Church on Saturday evening. Call (254) 223-4425 to reserve a spot.
Bare Bones BBQ keeps serving up great food and great music. Join them Saturday evening for an acoustic showcase featuring Jackie Darlene and Clint Allen Janisch.
