With the arrival of December, this weekend would be a great time to break out the Christmas
decorations and hang the lights (if you haven't already started). If you need some inspiration, drive downtown to see Lights on the Leon, the City of Gatesville Christmas displays. Traditionally held in Faunt le Roy Park, the lights have been moved to the downtown area this year, due to flood damage in the park. You'll find them located around the courthouse, along Leon Street to the First Baptist Church, on 10th Street beside the church, and in the space next to Graves Florist on Main. The lights are on each evening from dusk to 11pm and are made possible by business sponsors.
While you are looking at the lights, keep your eyes open in the store windows around the square. Reports are pouring in about sightings of Gatesville's very own Christmas elf. Leon the Cowboy Elf is sporting a green coat, jeans, a western buckle, and a black cowboy hat. If you spot him, snap a photo (or a selfie with him) and post it on social media with the hashtag #lookingforleon.

Extravaganza. This will be held at Gatesville Elementary on Dec. 1st from 9A-3P. This is put on by and benefits the Gatesville Elementary PTO. Local vendors of all categories will be set up for all of your shopping needs. It is sure to be a day of fun!

Local author, Helen Munday, will hold a book signing at the Gatesville Public Library on Saturday from 11am-1pm. Her newest book is The Best of Eve - Recipes from Around the World.
