FRIDAY 

The American Legion on Watts Lane will have fried catfish dinners for sale and will feature the music of Ed Leonard starting at 7pm.

 

The Gatesville High School theatre department will offer two performances of their play, "A Christmas Scarol" on Friday and Saturday evenings at 6:30 at the High School Auditorium. Tickets are $5.00.

SATURDAY

 

The annual Gatesville Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade begins at 10am.  The parade will start at Main & N 14th Street (next to HEB) and will go down Main Street to S Lovers Lane, ending in front of the High School. This year's theme is "The Grinch".

 

While you are out for the parade, stop by the Cotton Belt Depot between 9am & 1pm for the monthly Market Day. 

 

Then, head down to the Gatesville Civic Center for the 4H Holiday Market.  Admission is free and they'll have a variety of vendors and a concession stand at this indoor market Saturday and Sunday, 10am-4pm.  While you are there, stop in at the barn for the Christmas Classic Lamb, Goat & Swine Jackpot Show featuring youth from all over the state showing their animals.

 

Many of Gatesville's retailers are offering special Christmas deals on Saturday, in conjunction with the parade.  Graves Florist and Gifts will hold a Christmas open house from 8am-12noon with refreshments, special sales on decor and gifts, and a doorprize drawing for a $100 in-store gift certificate.

 

Leon River Mercantile is advertising a special holiday sale now through Tuesday (the 11th) with savings on western wear for kids and adults.  Don't forget that they have a great selection of jewelry, items for the home, and gifts items including Yeti products.  They are open on Sundays, too!

 

 

On Saturday evening, make your way back to the Cotton Belt Depot for the Chamber of Commerce Christmas Celebration from 6-9pm featuring photos with Santa ($5) and Hayrides to view the Christmas lights ($1).

 

 

 

 

 

 

On the music scene Saturday night, The Junction on 36 will have Patsy Cline tribute artist Bridgette Huffhines playing at 7pm. Call  254-865-0351 to reserve a table.

 

Bare Bones BBQ will feature music by  blues, roots, Americana musician Ryan Paul Davis starting at 8pm.

 

SUNDAY

Mountain Baptist Church, on Hwy 84 in South Mountain, will have a drive-thru live Nativity from 6-8pm on Sunday.  Featuring live animals and actors.
